Update on Little Pakistani Orphan Girl in Burn Accident

Aimee Herd : Jan 30, 2012  JMSOrphanage.org

"And if anyone gives even a cup of cold water to one of these little ones because he is My disciple, I tell you the truth, he will certainly not lose his reward." -Matt. 10:42

During the month of December, BCN ran a story about one of the girls in a Pakistani Christian orphanage who had suffered severe burns after an accident involving a cook stove, near where the children were playing.

cross memorialThe staff and caretakers at the Jesus My Shelter (JMS) orphanage tried their best to take care of little 8-year-old Gulnaz, but she really needed attention at a hospital, which was beyond their financial reach.

However, after our article was published, some funds did come in helping to make it possible for Gulnaz to receive the treatment she needed at the hospital.

In addition to this, so many of our readers used the email link we'd provided to send encouraging messages and prayers for Gulnaz, that it caused one of the JMS staff members, Saqib Yaqub to remark, "It's the first time she has smiled" since the incident happened.

After spending some time at the hospital, Gulnaz has recently returned back home to the orphanage, and—with the other children—was able to participate in opening some Christmas gifts that were sent to them. Saqib and the JMS staff extend their gratitude for the compassion and support.

And we'd like to thank our readers for their gifts and prayers on behalf of Gulnaz and all the children there at Jesus My Shelter orphanage.
