Reps. James Comer (R-KY) and Jim Jordan (R-OH) made the announcement in a press conference.

"This is an investigation of Joe Biden..." Comer told reporters. "And why he lied to the American people about his knowledge and participation in his families international business schemes."

Comer is soon to be the chair of the House Oversight Committee, and Jordan is expected to head up the House Judiciary Committee, as Republicans will retake control of the chamber in January.

Comer alleged Biden could be guilty of a slew of charges, including evidence of conspiracy or defrauding the United States, money laundering, wire fraud, violation of the Foreign Agents Registration Act, tax evasion, and even crimes related to human trafficking.

The Kentucky representative also called out the Democrats who have led the oversight committee during these first two years of the Biden administration and have not investigated the president.
