(Knoxville, Tennessee)—On January 22, Fred McAfee rose from his seat to give an offering at his church, Covenant Life Worship Center in Lake City, but without warning collapsed.

According to a WBIR News report, he was not breathing and there was no heartbeat. Parishioners immediately called an ambulance, but while they waited for it to arrive, they prayed. (Photo: WBIR News)

Ten minutes later, McAfee "woke up." He calls it a miracle.

"They gave me CPR, mouth-to-mouth, chest compression, but I give God the credit and the glory," he said, "because He's the one who raised me up. Once you leave here you're going to be with Jesus."

Dr. Kip Wenger at UT Medical Center stated he has seen similar cases. "There are times," he said, "on a monthly basis, where someone is believed to be dead and their heart stops and all of a sudden things get better."
