(Washington, D.C.)—Not to be deterred, Rev. Franklin Graham prayed outside the Pentagon on May 6 despite not being allowed to pray inside at an official National Day of Prayer service.

According to a USA Today report, following Graham's "dis-invitation" to pray at the Pentagon two weeks ago, the service inside the facility on the National Day of Prayer was led by "the head of the Armed Forces Chaplain Board (a Protestant) along with Catholic, Jewish and Muslim chaplains who were 'hastily added to the program."

On a live webcast from the Washington offices of the Family Research Council the evening before the National Day of Prayer, Graham was joined by James Dobson, founder of Focus on the Family, and Bishop Harry Jackson, Jr. to address Americans. As reported in CNS News, Graham said: "We're living in a time where we cannot compromise, we cannot back up, we cannot retreat. The Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ is to be preached to the ends of the Earth—that's what He's called us to do."
