"I go to sleep peacefully @ night knowing that I may have made a difference in someone's life." Officer Kim Munley was present at Fort Hood, last Thursday, as Maj. Nidal Malik Hasan began shooting, leaving dead and wounded in his wake. Munley was one of those who was wounded by Hasan, but she is being hailed as a hero for returning fire and finally stopping Hasan's deadly rampage.
Munley is recovering from her wounds and is in stable condition according to the report. According to a "Tweet" by Munley, she has a "good life…a hard one, but I go to sleep peacefully @ night knowing that I may have made a difference in someone's life." Some of the postings by others on her Twitter page read: "Stand tall girl! I'm here to tell you your sisters in policing are very proud of the courage you displayed yesterday. You ARE what being 'on the job' is all about. Your bravery in the line of fire will be long remembered." "You are a true heroine and we are deeply grateful for your courage," one posting read. "Best Wishes for a full and quick recovery."
