"Brilliant" New Poster Print Ad Reaches Out to Abused Children

Aimee Herd : May 23, 2013  KimKomando.com

Using a "lenticular" design, the featured ad actually provides two different messages to the viewer depending on their height.

Abuse ad How do you reach out to kids whose parents abuse them when they're with their parents? An ingenious new print ad uses a lenticular to show adults and kids a different image based on their height.

A new print ad, featured recently on the Kim Komando show, helps to solve a tricky issue involved in helping children.

The question is, how to get a message of help to an abused child when he or she is with their abuser—often a parent or family member.

Using a "lenticular" design, the featured ad actually provides two different messages to the viewer depending on their height.

Abuse ad The angle an adult would view the ad would show what they are meant to see, but from a child's angle—the height of an average 10-year-old—there would be a special message that includes a number they can call for help; the child's view is hidden from adult eyes.

In the particular ad, the words, only visible to children, read, "If somebody hurts you, phone us and we'll help you," and a phone number is given.

Komando calls the anti-child abuse ad "brilliant."

Watch a YouTube demonstration of how the ad works at the link provided.
