Hollywood Refuses to Honor Chuck Norris at the Emmys

SMG News Wire : Sep 18, 2026  ToddStarnes.com

Breitbart's John Nolte suggested politics may have been behind the snub, calling Norris a "conservative TV icon" and arguing the omission amounted to blacklisting. "That's the man the Emmys snubbed," Nolte wrote, noting "Walker, Texas Ranger" ran for nine seasons and produced more than 200 episodes. He argued that Norris' conservative Christian politics made him an outsider in Hollywood.

Norris, the conservative Christian action star who became a television icon playing Cordell Walker on CBS' "Walker, Texas Ranger," died in March at the age of 86. Yet his name and image were nowhere to be found during Monday night's tribute.

"The Emmys 'In Memoriam' segment didn't mention one of the biggest TV stars of his era, Chuck Norris," film critic Kyle Smith wrote on X, according to People.

Another furious viewer wrote, "Chuck Norris left out of the #Emmys In Memoriam?!?!?!?! WTF. Seriously a little angry about that." Another asked, "How the H*ll do you omit Chuck frickin Norris!?"

The Television Academy does, however, include Norris in its online memorial database, where it recognizes him as best known for portraying Cordell Walker.

Academy chairman Cris Abrego said before the broadcast that an unusually large number of prominent television figures had died and it was "not feasible" to include everyone in the televised segment.

But for Norris fans, leaving out the man who dominated Saturday-night television for nearly a decade was one roundhouse kick too many. Subscribe for free to Breaking Christian News here
