In an upcoming round-table discussion sponsored by the U.S. Dept. of Justice (DOJ) and the Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention (DJJDP), author and former gang member Nicky Cruz will be the Keynote speaker. The meeting on May 10th will feature other faith-based community leaders beside Cruz, discussing the issue of gang-related violence and how to prevent it.

Cruz, tagged by the Wall Street Journal as "the Billy Graham of the streets," is an expert on gangs and the issues that surround them. His story was first made known in the best-selling book by David Wilkerson, and the movie that followed, The Cross and the Switchblade.
