Aimee Herd : Apr 21, 2014  AP Staff – AP, Yahoo News

"At Dad's bed we were singing his favorite hymns, reading Scriptures and praying with him. It was a going away party, and we know he loved it."

Helen and Kenny(Nashport, OH)—Helen and "Kenny" were so in love that they just could not wait the 2 days till Kenneth was 21—the legal age to marry in Ohio in 1944—the couple crossed the river into Kentucky and eloped.

They were inseparable ever since; even—it seems—at the end of life.

According to the report, and the eight children of Helen and Kenneth Felumlee, since they met as teenagers their love was very deep, and the family knew when one passed, the other wouldn't be far behind.

Daughter, Linda Cody noted that the two, even held hands while eating breakfast together.

Helen and KennyMarried for 70 years, the two had both been teachers at their United Methodist Church, and Helen had her own little ministry of sending greeting cards with personal notes for all occasions, to those in her community.

Helen died on April 12th, and 12 hours later, Kenneth said to his children, "Mom's dead," and started to fade.

Just a few hours after, and only 15 hours following his wife's death, Kenneth—surrounded by his family and close friends—breathed his last.

"At Dad's bed we were singing his favorite hymns, reading Scriptures and praying with him," Kenneth's son, Dick Felumlee told the Associated Press in an email. "It was a going away party, and we know he loved it."
