Today America votes. Will we see a Red Wave? A Blue Wave? How about a Prayer Wave!

Before a single ballot is counted, I want you to know something: this election has been soaked in prayer. For months now, the IFA community has been doing exactly what God called us to do in 1 Timothy 2:1–2, making supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks for all who are in authority. You have done it from your kitchen tables, on Zoom calls at 7 a.m., in the parking lots of county election offices, on sidewalks outside polling places and in your prayer closets.

I have watched it happen, and I am moved. What follows is a snapshot of what God has been doing through His people, and a word of thanks for an answer to prayer that none of us saw coming.

Praying together as a nation

It began with the Word. Our 21 Days of Prayer for the 2026 Midterms devotional walked thousands of intercessors through three weeks of Scripture and focused prayer, from the character of those who govern, to the turnout of Believers, to protection for candidates and poll workers, to a cry for the outpouring of the Holy Spirit on this land. Day by day, you prayed those words over your state and our nation.

Around that devotional, we built a rhythm of corporate prayer. Our national prayer calls gathered intercessors from every time zone to pray with one voice.

On election eve, we gathered one more time for the Election Eve Prayer Call to pray in unity through critical prayer points for the election, beginning with the one that matters most: that God's plans and purposes for America would be fulfilled.

There is something encouraging about knowing that at the same hour, Believers in Maine and Montana, California and Connecticut, are lifting the same requests to the same God. He hears us.

State by state, name by name

National prayer matters, but elections are won and lost close to home. Governors, attorneys general, state legislators, judges, school board members, ballot measures: these are decided by neighbors, and some by only a few hundred votes. So our state prayer leaders went to work.

Each Wednesday we hosted a prayer webcast that featured prayer representatives from each featured state, until all states were covered in prayer. We stood with one another as we lifted each prayer point that was featured as their state's mountain that needed to be overcome. The voices of prayer over each state were encouraging.

Across the country, IFA state prayer groups have been meeting to pray specifically over their own races, using 10 Prayer Points for State Elections drawn from the 21-day devotional. Intercessors prayed for candidates by name, for county clerks and election boards by name, and for the particular strongholds that grip their state.

Many state prayer calls have doubled or tripled in participants. Some have even taken the step to meet in person to pray together where the state is geographically small.

This is what it looks like when the Church takes responsibility for its own backyard. It is unglamorous, faithful, and I believe it is shaking things in the heavenlies.

Boots on the ground

Then there are the intercessors who got up from the table and went outside.

All through early voting, and again today on Election Day, IFA intercessors are prayer walking their precincts and standing watch and interceding at polling locations. They are not there to campaign. They are there to pray over the ground where their neighbors will vote, to ask God for peace and safety at every door, to bless the poll workers who serve long hours, and to pray that every eligible vote is cast and counted honestly. Some are walking their precinct boundaries. Some are sitting quietly in their cars in the polling-place lot with an open Bible. MaryBeth from South Dakota reports that they are not just covering their own polling location, but branching out to prayer walk throughout the precinct.

Joshua was told that every place the sole of his foot would tread had been given to him. I believe there is something to that for us, too. When God's people physically stand on the ground and claim it for His purposes, the atmosphere changes. If you have not yet done this, there is still time tomorrow. Take a friend, take a prayer point, and go.

An answer to prayer we did not see coming

For months, intercessors have been asking God to do one specific thing: expose what is hidden. Luke 8:17 says that nothing is secret that will not be revealed. We prayed that over the plans being made for this election, and God answered.

In October, information surfaced in time for us to act on it: documents and public statements laying out a strategy to label the outcome of this election illegitimate, to condition the public with words like "election sabotage" and "election traitors" before the votes were even cast, and to mobilize for what would follow. That information became IFA's Special Report, The Red Line. It was not written to frighten anyone. It was written so that intercessors could see clearly and pray precisely, naming the players, the tactics, and the timeline, and setting prayer points against each one.

The timing was not an accident. Had this surfaced two weeks later, it would have been too late to pray through it with any focus. Instead, tens of thousands of you read it, shared it, and brought it into your prayer calls and your prayer walks. That is a direct answer to a direct request.

I want to say thank you to the people God used to bring this into the light. Jennica Pounds, known to most of you as DataRepublican, has spent time quietly tracing the money and the networks behind movements that most of us never see. Natalie Winters and her colleagues did research of their own, and the work overlapped beautifully with what DataRepublican had uncovered. They both did the hard work of reporting it, naming names and reading the documents when it would have been easier to look away. There are others, some of whom cannot be named, whose work made The Red Line possible. We are grateful for every one of them, and we are praying for their protection. Uncovering darkness has a cost.

Keep praying past today

Whatever the returns show tonight, our assignment does not end when the polls close. The Red Line made clear that the days after the election-the counting and the certification-are where the real pressure is expected. So, we keep praying: for accurate and transparent counts, for the courage of honest election officials, for restraint from anyone tempted toward violence, and for a Church that keeps its eyes on the Lord rather than on the cable news crawl.

Our hope was never in a candidate or a party. Psalm 146 tells us not to put our trust in princes. We pray because God has a purpose for this nation, and because He has invited us to partner with Him in it. Let's finish well.
