Faith-Based Movies and TV Shows to Watch in 2024The Kendrick Brothers duo of Alex and Stephen are bringing back familiar faces in their newest film, "The Forge," which takes place in the same cinematic universe as "War Room."
Here are a few options you'll want to see for yourself: "The Chosen" Season 4 in Theaters Feb. 1, 2024 The much anticipated fourth season of "The Chosen," a wildly popular show about Jesus and the disciples, will debut in movie theaters across the country at the beginning of February. All of "The Chosen" cast, led by Jonathan Roumie who plays Jesus, will return with one notable exception: Philip actor Yoshi Barrigas, who departed for "personal and professional reasons" will be replaced by Reza Diako from "The Diplomat" on Netflix. Here is how it will be released on the big screen: Feb. 1, 2024: Episodes 1-3 The season is filled with sorrow, grief, and a lot of miracles, according to viewers who got a first look. "Season 4 marks the midpoint of the most famous and influential story in human history," Dallas Jenkins, creator of "The Chosen," said. "It will be painful, and it will be joyous. It will be bittersweet. But by all measures, Season 4 will also be our best." WATCH THE TRAILER CLICK HERE AND SCROLL "Ordinary Angels" in Theaters Feb. 23, 2024 "Ordinary Angels," from Kingdom Story Company and Lionsgate, is based on a true story of Sharon Stevens, a struggling hairdresser played by "Freedom Writers" actress Hilary Swank, who meets Ed Schmitt, a widower working hard to make ends meet for his two daughters played by "Reacher" actor Alan Ritchson, in small-town Kentucky. Stevens discovers a sense of purpose helping Schmitt's 3-year-old daughter as she awaits a liver transplant during a devastating snowstorm in 1994. "I was drawn to this beautiful true story because it's such a powerful reminder that angels reside everywhere among us," Swank told TODAY. "And that faith, hope, grit and positivity are all powerful fuel for miracles." The story is personal to Swank. She took a break from acting to care for her dad while he recovered from a lung transplant from 2015 to 2018. It follows father David Smallbone, played by for KING + COUNTRY's Joel Smallbone (co-writer and co-director of the movie), as he moves his family of nine from Australia to the United States in the 1990's. He has no plans for his life other than playing basketball and video games—until he meets a man, played by Cameron Arnett, who takes him under his wing and helps him "discover how God might have a greater purpose" for him. NBA Star Unveils 'Judah 1' Basketball Shoes with Powerful Bible Verse Bryce Gheisar plays Julian, who struggled in "Wonder" after being expelled from his former school for his treatment of Auggie. His grandma, played by Mirren, shares her story of courage, growing up in Nazi-occupied France when a boy sheltered her from danger. The two find love while the boy's mother, played by Anderson, risks everything to keep her safe. WATCH THE TRAILER CLICK HERE AND SCROLL "Bonhoeffer" in Theaters in 2024 Angel Studios acquired the new film, "Bonhoeffer," based on the World War II hero in November The film "shares the true story of Dietrich Bonhoeffer, a pacifist pastor determined to live his life with uncompromising political and spiritual courage while choosing to live in Berlin during the Third Reich. Conspiring to bring an end to the Nazi regime, he fearlessly spoke the truth while facing unyielding oppression and evil." Jordan Harmon, president of Angel Studios, said Bonhoeffer's story is much-needed amid the rise in antisemitism.
