"I'm Just a Blessed Boy From Iowa": British Open Champ Zach Johnson Recited Scripture Before Win"I feel like God gave me the ability to play a game. I try to take it very seriously [but] I realize it's just a game. I'm just a guy from Iowa who's been blessed with a talent, and this game provided great opportunity." –Zach Johnson
The tournament was forced to go an extra day because of the heavy rains and winds. Johnson, who is a dedicated Christian, talked about his victory and his faith after winning the trophy. "It hasn't set in yet—I gotta be honest. But I felt great, I was patient, I had some Scripture going in my head, I thank the Lord, I thank my friends, I thank my family... I'm just in awe right now," Zach Johnson said. Johnson became a Christian after meeting the woman he eventually married.
