Thirteen IDF soldiers reportedly died and over 100 Palestinians were killed in an attack on one of Hamas' strongholds in Shejaiya.

Two of the Israeli soldiers killed were American-born Max Steinberg and Sgt. Nissim Sean Carmeli.

For three days prior to going in, Israel had warned residents via phone and leaflets to "get out of harm's way," but Hamas' interior minister insisted they stay put, as the terror organization was using them as "human shields."

Israeli Economy Minister Naftali Bennett noted, "Hamas is effectively conducting self-genocide. They're placing their women and children around missile launchers, shooting rockets at Israel [and] waiting for us to retaliate in order for them to kill their own, and that's what's happening."

Former President Bill Clinton agreed saying, "[Hamas has] a strategy designed to force Israel to kill their own civilians so the rest of the world will condemn them."
