Former Governor Mike Huckabee's attempt to unite Americans behind their right to free speech was a huge success Wednesday as hundreds of thousands showed up at Chick-fil-A's around the country to show their support of the franchise's right to speak out on the issue.

LifeSiteNews.com reported it as "chicken-crazed chaos" in some areas and gave numerous examples of clogged parking lots and freeways nationwide as both Christians and non-Christians attempted to eat at their local Chick-fil-A's.

The day even received front-page attention in major newspapers around the world.

In response to the overwhelming turnout, Huckabee had this to say on Your World: "We've had over 21 million views on my Facebook page, but this is something not just for Chick-fil-A, but for America and for people who believe the First Amendment applies to everyone, including Christians.

"I think a lot of people felt that if you're a Muslim and you take a position against same-sex marriage, Rahm Emanuel will put his arm around you in a public ceremony like he did to Louis Farrakhan the very day he was condemning Dan Cathy, and it's that hypocrisy and inconsistency and intolerance and bigotry toward Christians that I think people are just tired of."

On Fox News, the former governor said he'd love to talk to the mayors of towns, like Chicago and Boston, who would like to prevent Chick-fil-A's from opening shop in their cities.

Said Huckabee, "I'd love to ask what government authority gave them the right to censor commerce in their communities because they disagreed with someone who worked there. The CEO's of Apple Computers, Starbucks, Ben and Jerry's, and Amazon all support same sex marriage, have given generously to it, but I still drink Starbucks; I use my iPhone and MacBook; I'll order things on Amazon, and I'll eat Ben and Jerry's ice cream. I'm not buying their politics; I'm buying their products, and I think people need to quit being so ridiculously fearful that somebody might have a point of view that's different than mine. I expect them to have a different one; I just expect them to treat each other with civility and a sense of respect."
