According to an article in the Dallas Morning News on Saturday, media that reports news from a Bible-friendly perspective are rapidly growing in popularity. "In the world of Christian news, you'll find a biblical perspective on the day's events and a notable lack of skin and celebrity gossip," says the article, written by Colleen McCain Nelson.

Though some journalism experts question the consistency of quality in religious media, many Christians say they're sick of "bad news" and welcome hearing about current events from a Believing point of view.

The article goes on to state that many feel the press just "doesn't get" religion. According to Terry Mattingly, writer for the "Getreligion" website, "The press can sit in the middle of highly intense religious situations and just not understand what they're watching."

Arbitron surveys have shown that Christian radio stations have grown from 1,769 to 2,014, 14 percent in the last 5 years. And a recent Barna Group report found that more people use Christian media than attend church.
