(Roseburg, OR)—LATEST UPDATE: According to a KPTV report, one student--who said she was inside the classroom where the gunman opened fire--had told reporters that the shooter had asked people to "stand up and state their religion," and then he began shooting. That report has not been confirmed.

The student said she survived because she laid down with those who were already shot and played dead.

Douglas Co. Sherrif's Office in a press conference on Thursday, confirmed the UCC shooter was a male, 20-years-old. According to the Sheriff, when police arrived on scene, the shooter fired on police officers and they engaged him. He is deceased. Major Crimes team was said to be conducting a thorough investigation to determine motive.

UPDATE: According to the Oregon state Attorney General, the confirmed number of people killed by a shooter at Umpqua Community College was 13, at least a dozen more were wounded, some critically, so the fatality count could rise.

The average age of students at Umpqua is over 30-years-old.

The local hospital announced they were expecting an "untold number" of wounded.

According to an ongoing CNN.com report, the shooter is in police custody. The area was on lockdown, and students were being evacuated from the campus.

Please pray for those wounded, as well as those who've lost loved ones in this shooting.
