(Israel)—They may be on another continent, but the people of Israel have been deeply touched by the tragedy of the Newtown, CT shooting, as so many of us have.

According to a Charisma News report, over 2,000 people have already donated funds to plant more than 3,000 trees in Israel—the grove to be in memory of the victims of the Dec. 14th massacre.

Over $61,000 has been raised for the arbor memorial, which will be part of the Beersheva River Park, being constructed by the Jewish National Fund.

The report noted that the idea came from Veronique Pozner's request that memorial contributions for her son should be "directed toward the planting of trees in Israel." Pozner lost her son, Noah in the shooting—he was the only Jewish victim.
