Indiana Farm Honors Charlie Kirk with Their Corn Maze, Stands for Civil Discourse amid Backlash

Aimee Herd : Sep 3, 2026  Breaking Christian News

"...Although not everyone agreed with [Charlie Kirk's] beliefs or methods, he understood that when people stop talking, division deepens and others become easier to dehumanize. He was killed while participating in the kind of open exchange he championed, and we honor the principle that disagreement must never be answered with violence." -Goebel Farms statement

[Breaking Christian News] A "2nd and 3rd generation" farm in Indiana went all out this year to honor Charlie Kirk in light of the upcoming 1-year anniversary of his assassination, and if you happen to fly over their corn maze, you'll see his image. (Screengrab image: via GoebelFarms.com)

Goebel Farms, which yields crops of pumpkins, corn, soybeans, wheat, and Christmas Trees, combined the memorial for Charlie with the following statement on their website:

"We chose to honor Charlie Kirk because he believed that disagreement should lead to conversation, not violence. He spent much of his life bringing political debate into public spaces, inviting people who opposed his views to challenge him and encouraging young people to examine important questions for themselves.

"Although not everyone agreed with his beliefs or methods, he understood that when people stop talking, division deepens and others become easier to dehumanize. He was killed while participating in the kind of open exchange he championed, and we honor the principle that disagreement must never be answered with violence."

The statement includes links to several Turning Point USA sites as well as Charlie's official website.

Farm owner Jeremy Goebel has paid tribute to selected celebrities with his corn maze in the past, however, none that have brought the kind of backlash that they've experienced with their memorial to Charlie Kirk.

According to a Yahoo News report:

The decision drew online attention immediately. Within four hours of unveiling the maze on Facebook, the post had already garnered about 1,000 reactions and more than 200 shares. About 450 people hearted or liked the post, while around 480 people responded with a laughing emoji.

The report noted that Goebel responded on social media with an additional statement saying, "Charlie was killed while publicly expressing and debating his convictions. In a country founded on the principles of free speech, no person should lose his or her life for participating in political discussion. People are free to challenge ideas, criticize them and reject them – but violence must never become the response to speech." Subscribe for free to Breaking Christian News here
