Appeals Court Addressing the Abortion Pill Beginning Today in Louisiana: Intercessory Directive from The BriefingIf the court rules in favor of Louisiana, stricter regulations resembling those in place before 2021 could be reinstated. These restrictions could prohibit telehealth prescribing, end retail-pharmacy dispensing, and require mifepristone to be dispensed in person through approved medical settings.
THE ABORTION PILL Abortion is the #1 cause of death in America. Its scythe reaches far beyond that of heart disease or cancer. Each year the lives of over 1,100,000 unborn children are legally murdered before they ever have a chance to defend their unalienable right to life. Despite the US Supreme Court's 2022 decision overturning Roe v. Wade, the number of abortions in America has increased rather than decreased. This is largely due to the widespread use of mifepristone, formally known as RU-486 and commonly called the "abortion pill". In April 2025, a new report emerged challenging previous claims concerning the safety of mifepristone. Subsequently, US Secretary of Health and Human Services Robert F. Kennedy Jr. directed the Food and Drug Administration to conduct a review of the drug's safety data and governing regulations. Meanwhile, multiple legal cases involving abortion pills are moving through the courts, focusing on federal regulations, mail-order distribution, and state-level restrictions. This Wednesday, September 9, 2026, oral arguments will be heard in New Orleans in the case of State of Louisiana v. US Food and Drug Administration. A three-judge panel of the US Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit will consider Louisiana's challenge to the nationwide availability of mifepristone through telehealth and mail-order delivery. The coming days and weeks will be a crucial time for prayer as decisions are being made by the judges. If the court rules in favor of Louisiana, stricter regulations resembling those in place before 2021 could be reinstated. These restrictions could prohibit telehealth prescribing, end retail-pharmacy dispensing, and require mifepristone to be dispensed in person through approved medical settings. Sadly, none of the current legal cases involving the RU-486 pill address the morality of murdering a child in the womb. Nevertheless, these cases present a significant opportunity to make a medical abortion more difficult to obtain. At the same time, we are engaged in a spiritual battle in the courts of Heaven, where we bear a solemn responsibility to stand against the atrocity of abortion. Back in 2003, Lou Engle was reading a biography of William Wilberforce when the Lord spoke to him, saying, "You will raise up a prayer movement for the ending of the slave trade of abortion in America." Not long afterward, Lou and a team of approximately 70 young people embarked on a 750-mile prayer journey along the infamous Trail of Tears. We had received a dream revealing that we could not confront the issue of abortion without first walking in the sandals of Native Americans. The Lord was inviting us into identificational repentance for the displacement, suffering, and bloodshed endured by our Native American brothers and sisters.
The Lord gave us prophetic understanding that the three flares signified the three periods in history when infants were specifically targeted with mass violence: Sunspot 486 also spoke to us of the RU-486 pill. God was calling us to stand in prayer against this weapon of mass destruction and satan's diabolical assault upon this end-time generation of children. After the solar event of 2003, Bob Jones prophesied that God was going to bring judgment upon America because of abortion. According to Scripture, God's judgments are legal decisions issued from His throne of justice. Thankfully, through the cross, Christ has crushed the head of the serpent and extended the cup of God's covenantal mercy to mankind. Yet, as intercessory priests, we must appropriate His mercy by pleading the Blood of Jesus over our ongoing national guilt. Likewise, we have been raised up as kings to execute God's judgment against the demonic realm and to dismantle what remains of the stronghold of abortion in our nation. Despite the longstanding battle against this death decree, it is ours to win. We have seen the evidence of God's storm of justice rolling through our nation with the overturning of Roe and the dethroning of Ishtar. We now need to see it through to the end. Therefore, let us set our faces to intercede concerning these court cases while contending for the ultimate defeat of the RU-486 pill.
