Netanyahu Tells Christians: 'We Are One' (Video)

Ryan Jones : Jul 30, 2026  Israel Today

For Israel-loving Christians, the message was both an affirmation and a charge. Netanyahu was not only asking for political backing. He was acknowledging a covenantal bond, a shared heritage, and a common front in a spiritual and civilizational struggle.

[Israel Today] Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu emphasized not only a shared Judeo-Christian heritage in his meeting with Evangelical leaders in Washington on Wednesday. He also pointed out that Jews and Christians are brothers, part of the same faith family, a truth that the Church has long sought to overlook. (Screengrab image: via APT /YouTube)

Netanyahu told the Christian leaders that the Jewish people are "descendants from the original Hebrews of the Holy Land," placing modern Israel directly in the long Biblical story that began with Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.

He described the Jewish people as "the first part" of the Judeo-Christian heritage that has shaped Western civilization, freedom, and faith. It was a reminder that Christianity was not born in Rome, Europe, or America. It was born in Israel, among Jews, from the faith and Scriptures of Israel.

The prime minister's remarks came at a time when both Jews and Evangelical Christians are facing rising hostility across the West. Netanyahu linked antisemitism and anti-Evangelicalism as related attacks, not separate trends.

"It's not accidental that the two are coming under a joint attack, because we are one," he said.

That line was the heart of his message, and more than that, a return to a fundamental truth. Israel's enemies understand something that many churches forgot for centuries: Jews and Christians are not rival spiritual communities, but connected branches of the same Biblical story. The attack on the Jewish state, the Jewish people, Biblical truth, and faithful Christianity is not merely a modern political phenomenon. It is spiritual. It comes from the same rebellion against the God of Israel, His covenant purposes, and the moral order rooted in Scripture. That is why antisemitism and hostility toward Bible-believing Christians so often move together. They are aimed at the same foundation. (Screengrab image: via APT /YouTube)

Israel has had no choice but to stand firm against the enemy. Netanyahu urged Christians to do the same.

"Stand up and don't cower," he said, calling on his audience to answer attacks with strength rather than apology. He thanked Evangelicals for their consistent support and the "constancy" of their friendship, but made clear that the moment requires more than sympathy.

"Now it's time to fight," Netanyahu said.

For Israel-loving Christians, the message was both an affirmation and a charge. Netanyahu was not only asking for political backing. He was acknowledging a covenantal bond, a shared heritage, and a common front in a spiritual and civilizational struggle.

The Jewish state is not alone. And Christians who stand with Israel are not outsiders to Israel's story. They are part of the family... Subscribe for free to Breaking Christian News here
