Chicago Bulls Dump Player after His Criticism of Pride Month

Fred Lucas : Mar 31, 2026  The Daily Signal

"They proclaim it on the billboards. They proclaim in the streets. Unrighteousness. So, how is it that one can't speak righteousness? ... Why didn't they just say 'we don't agree with his stance on LGBTQ'? How is my conduct detrimental to the team? What did I do to the team? What did I do to the players?" -Jaden Ivey

The Bulls announced Ivey's departure on Monday "due to conduct detrimental to the team."

This came after Ivey posted a video criticizing the NBA's promotion of Pride Month, which is in June.

"The world can proclaim LGBTQ, right?" Ivey said in the video post.

"They proclaim Pride Month and the NBA. They proclaim it. They show it to the world. They say, 'Come join us for Pride Month to celebrate unrighteousness.' They proclaim it," he continued.

"They proclaim it on the billboards. They proclaim in the streets. Unrighteousness. So, how is it that one can't speak righteousness? Who are they to say that this man is crazy?"

In response to his release, Ivey posted another video saying the Bulls should be honest rather than saying he was detrimental to the team.

"Why didn't they just say 'we don't agree with his stance on LGBTQ'?" Ivey said. "How is my conduct detrimental to the team? What did I do to the team? What did I do to the players?"

Ivey only played four games with the Chicago Bulls, averaging 11.5 points and 4.8 rebounds per game before his release, according to Fox News

Ivey was traded to the Bulls in February as part of a three-team deal involving the Bulls, the Minnesota Timberwolves, and the Detroit Pistons, Ivey's former team.

In a separate video, Ivey called Catholicism a "false religion," which did not prompt any action by the Bulls or the NBA. His mother, Niele Ivey, is the head women's basketball coach at Notre Dame, a Catholic university. Subscribe for free to Breaking Christian News here
