[Watch] CNN Admits 'Voter ID Is NOT Controversial in This Country,' Even among Minorities"So the bottom line is this: voter ID is not controversial in this country. It is not controversial by party, and it is not controversial by race." -CNN Data Analyst Harry Enten
"What's the racial breakdown on this, right? Because I think a lot of people make the argument that people of color, non-white Americans have a harder time procuring a photo ID to vote," Enten asked—before reporting Pew Research findings:
"Normally, you'd might expect there'd be a big divide by party, with Republicans really for it and Democrats really against it—but not really, here," Enten said, noting that even 71% of Democrats support requiring a photo ID to vote. Total support for requiring photo ID to vote has been "north of 75%" for years, Enten said, citing Pew surveys going back to 2018. "So the bottom line is this: voter ID is not controversial in this country. It is not controversial by party, and it is not controversial by race," Enten explained. "The vast majority of Americans agree with Nicki Minaj that, in fact you should have a photo ID to be able to vote," Enten said, vindicating the star rapper who drew liberal backlash Sunday when she touted the photo ID requirement in a social media post: "What sensible forward thinking cutting edge leading nation is having a DEBATE on whether or not there should be VOTER ID?!?!!!! Like?!?!? They're actually fighting NOT to have ppl present ID while voting for your leaders!!!!! Do you get it?!?!!!! Do you get it now?!?!!!"
