4 of 5 Highest Gas Prices Are in Blue States, 4 of 5 Lowest in Red States

Four of the five most expensive states for a gallon of regular gas have Democrat governors, while four of the five least expensive states have Republican governors, according to state averages reported on AAA's website.

If you look deeper, blue states represent seven of the ten most expensive gasoline markets and red states have eight of the ten cheapest.

10 Most Expensive States for Gasoline:

California ($4.66) – Gov. Gavin Newsom (D)
Hawaii ($4.54) – Gov. Joshua Green (D)
Washington ($4.08) – Gov. Bob Ferguson (D)
Nevada ($3.74) – Gov. Joe Lombardo (R)
Oregon ($3.71) – Gov. Tina Kotek (D)
Alaska ($3.40) – Gov. Mike Dunleavy (R)
Arizona ($3.35) – Gov. Katie Hobbs (D)
Illinois ($3.25) – Gov. J.B. Pritzker (D)
Pennsylvania ($3.23) – Gov. Josh Shapiro (D)
Idaho ($3.19) – Gov. Brad Little (R)

10 least Expensive States for Gasoline:

Mississippi ($2.64) – Gov. Tate Reeves (R)
Texas ($2.66) – Gov. Greg Abbott (R)
Kentucky ($2.68) – Gov. Andy Beshear (D)
Oklahoma ($2.71) – Gov. Kevin Stitt (R)
Louisiana ($2.72) – Gov. Jeff Landry (R)
Tennessee ($2.73) – Gov. Bill Lee (R)
Arkansas ($2.78) – Gov. Sarah Huckabee Sanders (R)
Alabama ($2.75) – Gov. Kay Ivey (R)
South Carolina ($2.76) – Gov. Henry McMaster (R)
North Carolina ($2.78) – Gov. Josh Stein (D)

AAA reports that, on Friday, the US average cost per gallon of regular was $3.083. That's down from $3.106 a week earlier, $3.165 a month ago and $3.412 year-ago.

"This drop at the pump comes as many travelers gear up to hit the road for spring break and drivers may be surprised to find gas under $3 in 31 states," AAA notes. Subscribe for free to Breaking Christian News here
