Candidate for US Senate Confesses That "Murdering" His First Child in Abortion is a "Scar on My Soul""I saw that ultrasound of my baby, my child, and it came down on me like a ton of bricks that I had murdered my first child. And I will carry that with me to my grave. It should not be this easy for our children to kill their children." -Ed Henry
Ed Henry is currently a state representative in Alabama and is one of the four candidates vying for a U.S. Senate seat in Congress. Henry has shared in the past how intensely he regrets accompanying his girlfriend for an abortion back in 1991,Al.com. In fact, the Associated Press noted that Henry surprised a crowd at a pro-life rally back in 2012 when he proclaimed, "I murdered my first child." It was the first time he had publicly discussed the very personal matter. "In '91 I was in a similar situation where I had a girlfriend who was with child and I made a decision that I will regret—that we went and I murdered my child, my first child," Henry said. It wasn't until 12 years later that he said the decision really hit him as he and his wife saw the ultrasound for their unborn baby. "I saw that ultrasound of my baby, my child, and it came down on me like a ton of bricks that I had murdered my first child," Henry explained. "And I will carry that with me to my grave. It should not be this easy for our children to kill their children." He told Al.com that he tries not to dwell on the abortion, saying, "All of your experiences are cumulative of who you are but that is a very significant scar that I have on my soul." Henry also took aim at the Republican budget for its failure to defund Planned Parenthood, proclaiming that the GOP ran on that pledge and that there's no excuse for the party failing to fulfill it.
