Todd Starnes' Take on This Year's Oscar Fiasco: "Hold Next Year's Ceremony in Tehran""It appears the folks who play make-believe for a living were so busy insulting President Trump—somebody forgot to check the names on the envelopes." -Todd Starnes
The Academy Awards announced the wrong winner for Best Picture—one of the most hilarious television moments I've seen in ages. It appears the folks who play make-believe for a living were so busy insulting President Trump—somebody forgot to check the names on the envelopes. Price Waterhouse Coopers apologized for the mix-up—but Hollywood deserved a bit of comeuppance. They spent the entire night insulting President Trump and his administration. "I want to say thank you to President Trump," host Jimmy Kimmel said. "Remember last year when it seemed like the Oscars were racist? That's gone, thanks to him." Iranian filmmaker Asghar Farhadi was the worst—He was—the winner of an Oscar for best foreign language film. Mr. Farhadi boycotted the show to protest President Trump's temporary immigration ban. Iran, of course, is one of the seven nations on the list—an incubator for Islamic radicals. A statement read on Mr. Farhadi's behalf called the ban inhumane—and disrespectful. "I'm sorry I'm not with you tonight," the statement read. "My absence is out of respect for the people of my country and those of other six nations who have been disrespected by the inhumane law that bans entry of immigrants to the U.S." Do you want to know what else is inhumane and disrespectful? Blowing up innocent people and chopping off their heads. I've said it once and I will say it again—if Hollywood is so infatuated with the Islamic radicals—I would encourage them to hold next year's Academy Awards in downtown Tehran. Let the Ayatollahs handle the envelopes.
