As they searched for survivors in the town of Pescara del Tronto, workers heard the cries of young Guilia, who was trapped under mounds of concrete and steel.

"You can hear something under here. Quiet, quiet," one rescue worker said, according to The Associated Press. They urged, "Come on, Giulia, come on, Giulia."

Guilia's dramatic rescue was captured on video and rescue workers cheered "she's alive" after successfully pulling her out. 

"The 10-year-old girl was just pulled out now from the rubble and she is being taken to the hospital and that is good news," Danilo Dionisi, a firefighter from Ascoli Piceno told The Daily Mail. "As far as the rest is concerned, the images speak for themselves, you can see what the town looks like." 

Pescara del Tronto was one of the towns hit the hardest by the 6.5 earthquake. Witnesses have likened the scene to "Dante's inferno" as entire hamlets have been completely destroyed. 

Rescuers continue to work frantically to save as many people as they can before time runs out.
