Norwegian Parliament Approves Groundbreaking Law that Targets those who Perpetuate Human TraffickingNorway's new law will go after the demand for prostitution instead of the victims of this modern-day slavery.
The new ruling would make "payment for sexual acts a criminal offense." Dr. Janice Crouse, director and senior fellow at Concerned Women for America, explained why this is a better approach. "So many countries, including the United States, still look at this as a problem of prostitutes, but that doesn't get rid of sex trafficking," said Crouse. She added that the demand for prostitution was what needed to be stopped, and that the ones seeking the favors of a prostitute were the ones who are causing this modern-day slavery to continue.
