Those who suffer from the trauma of childhood sexual abuse no longer have to remain isolated and ashamed. Authentic community and healing is available.

(Long Island, NY)?According to the U.S Dept. of Health and Human Services, an estimated 39 million survivors of childhood sexual abuse exist in America today. The trauma of childhood sexual abuse continually haunts those who have suffered from it. The shame, anger, confusion, and pain overwhelm victims as they suffer, often alone. But according to Restoring the Heart Ministries founder Julie Woodley, victims of childhood sexual abuse can experience genuine love and transformation in the midst of their brokenness.

According to Woodley and other Christian counselors, those broken by sexual abuse can't struggle alone. They need a small, safe community where they can experience Christ's love, hear the stories of other victims, and then share their own stories of abuse. Survivors also need a gentle step-by-step approach that will walk them through a proven path towards healing.

On an effort to provide safe community and a proven step-by-step healing path, Restoring the Heart Ministries has released In the Wildflowers. This new series uses the visual storytelling of abuse survivors and the wise teaching of Christian counselors to lead women and men towards healing. In the Wildflowers is a 10-part DVD series with accompanying curriculum. Each of the 10 DVDs weaves together real-life stories and counseling professionals who focus on each stage in the healing process. This series also includes three bonus DVDs for family members, church leaders, and group facilitators. Using this curriculum, Christian counselors will have the tools to lead people out of isolation and into a life-changing relationship with Christ.
