Sgt. David Robison, of the Ohio State Highway Patrol didn't let a unique opportunity pass him by on Sunday, when he arrived to assist a State Trooper who had stopped a speeding car at 3AM.
 
According to the FOX 8 report, Mark Ross had just found out his 15-year-old sister had been killed in a car accident, and he needed to get to Detroit to support his mother.
 
Ross' license was suspended so he convinced a friend (whose license was reportedly also suspended) to drive him from Indiana, but when he saw the flashing lights behind them he was sure his trip was over.

"I knew I was going to jail due to a petty warrant," Ross explained later in a Facebook post.
 
The driver was taken into custody by the trooper, and Sgt. Robison went over to talk to Ross.
 
Ross' Facebook post (excerpted below), which has since gone viral, explains what happened next:
 
"...I explained to the officer that my sister had died and that I needed to get to my mother asap. I broke down crying and he saw the sincerity in my cry. He REACHES OVER AND BEGAN PRAYING OVER ME AND MY FAMILY. He offered to bring me 100 miles further to Detroit because they towed the vehicle. Everybody knows how much I dislike Cops but I am truly Grateful for this Guy. He gave me hope."
 
Ross' family was "overwhelmed" and appreciative for his kindness, and invited Sgt. Robison to the funeral services, which he says he plans to attend.
