"The BIBLE" beat out such programming favorites as CBS's "60 Minutes" and AMC's "The Walking Dead. In fact, this past Sunday night, part one of the new "BIBLE" miniseries reached the #1 spot in terms of television viewers. "In the latest television ratings, the Bible is hot and aspiring pop stars are not," quipped Alblas, alluding to the 13.1 million who watched part one of the Biblical series, compared to last week's dismal viewing of both "American Idol" episodes, which both garnered their lowest audience numbers since the show's inception about 10 years ago. In addition to the large viewership of "The BIBLE", History's website "had its most visited day ever on Sunday," according to Nancy Dubuc, president of A&E network's entertainment and media. "Clearly, the passion for this project has resonated with our viewers and across the nation," Dubuc said. "We are thrilled, and the story is only just beginning."
