Remember, as the darkness rails against the Light of Jesus, it will never win.

[Breaking Christian News] Here in the US, it's nearly impossible these days, to be unaware of the level of resistance and even vitriol against what is just and true, and the Biblically-based values on which this country was founded. (Image: Unsplash-Ben White /Samuel Branch-edited)

I believe this is the manifestation in the natural, of the spiritual battle that is taking place, especially as we approach May.

During this next month, not only will the annual National Day of Prayer be held on Thursday, May 7th, but in honor of America's 250th birthday, President Trump has declared May 17th to be a day of rededicating the nation to the Lord.

No doubt this infuriates the enemy of our souls.

But this is an opportunity for the Church—the Body of Christ—to rise up in prayer, and in worship and praise to our God.

Just as King Jehoshaphat—when faced with strong enemies coming at his kingdom of Judah—called on the Lord and then placed the worship team on the front lines, giving praise and thanksgiving to God (2 Chron. 20).

As they did, the Lord fought the battle for Jehoshaphat and his people, causing the enemies to fight amongst themselves, destroying each other in the process.

Prayer strengthens our relationship with God and trust in Him, so that we CAN praise and worship Him.

What if each Believer and follower of Jesus, when met with depressing headlines in the news or personally, began to sing out a song of trust and praise to God, instead of giving in to despair, remembering that worship can be warfare?

The book of Psalms is excellent for this, as most of them written by King David, are full of the emotions we all carry. Pick one to read, or make up a melody as you sing through it.

Or, there is a plethora of praise and worship songs available to us from various places.

Bottom line: let's rise up, Church, I believe God has placed us here to stand in the gap for America during "such a time as this!" Subscribe for free to Breaking Christian News here

And let us remember, as the darkness rails against the Light of Jesus, it will never win.
