"...The Bible tells us that one of the measures of any society is how it cares for vulnerable children and orphans ... so as we make America great again, we are going to protect American children in foster care, and we're going to ensure that they will never, ever be forgotten..." -President Donald Trump

In the first section of the order, under "Purpose and Policy," it reads:

My Administration is dedicated to empowering mothers and fathers to raise their children in safe and loving homes. When crises prevent such an arrangement, our Nation's foster care system must be ready to serve children in need. Today's foster care system must be improved in a number of important ways.

Children often stay in foster care for years, and those who transition out due to age frequently face uncertain futures without the support systems essential to educational, career, and relational success. Many caseworkers are overburdened. Information systems are often outdated. Some jurisdictions and organizations maintain policies that discourage or prohibit qualified families from serving children in need as foster and adoptive parents because of their sincerely-held religious beliefs or adherence to basic biological truths.

Our Nation's children and youth—and the families who care for them—deserve better. To that end, my Administration, with special leadership from the First Lady, will harness Federal support, technology, and strategic partnerships to provide young Americans in or transitioning out of the foster care system with the tools they need to become successful adults...

Among the many present at the signing was Eric Alvarez, who was formerly in the foster care system, but now is soon to be commissioned as an Air Force officer.

President Trump had him stand as he said,"Eric and his siblings were placed in foster care at 9...and child welfare system at 15. Today, he credits a mentoring and work experience program [with] helping him finish high school and start his adult life."

"Eric is pursuing a Masters at George Washington University, and he is a cadet in the Air Force ROTC, commissioned as an OFFICER upon graduation! Eric, great job! Congratulations!"

Also invited to the signing was Terrence K. Williams, a comedian, author and the Founder of Cousin T's food company.

Williams posted images of the presidential invitations on his X account, while giving a short testimony of his journey from foster care to being a successful entrepreneur, and a friend of President Trump.

Williams said,"First Lady Melania Trump and President Trump have invited me to the executive signing for the Foster Care Initiative today (Screengrab image: via X)

"As someone who grew up in foster care, this moment means more than words can ever express. I know what it feels like to move from home to home. I know what it feels like to wonder if your future will ever be bigger than your circumstances.

"But I refused to become a victim—I chose to become a victor.

"And that's the beauty of the American story. Only in this country can a foster kid rise up, build a life, and write a whole new chapter.

"I created my own food company, CousinT's.

"I wrote my book, 'From the Foster House to the White House,' to inspire people who feel forgotten, kids who feel invisible, kids who just need someone to tell them you can make it too.

"To now be invited to witness an executive signing that will help foster children across America... it's emotional. It's humbling. And it's a full-circle moment I'll never take for granted. Subscribe for free to Breaking Christian News here
