Houston Pediatrician Fired for Saying MAGA Flood Victims Got 'What They Voted For'

James Mortensen : Jul 8, 2025  MRCTV

"There is no place for politicization. The entire focus needs to be on looking for survivors. Any complaints we may receive will be thoroughly investigated." -president of the Texas Medical Board, Sherif Zaafran, MD

[MRCTV.org] In the wake of the past weekend's horrific floods in Kerr County, Texas that killed more than a hundred people, including dozens of children, a Houston pediatrician sparked backlash by suggesting that supporters of Pres. Trump's Make America Great Again (MAGA) movement deserved to die. (Screengrab image: via X)

Dr. Christina B. Propst, has been fired for stating in a now-deleted Facebook comment (emphasis added):

"May all visitors, children, non-MAGA voters and pets be safe and dry. Kerr County MAGA voted to gut FEMA. They deny climate change. May they get what they voted for. Bless their hearts."

Propst's deleted comment was shared on X alongside an additional post where she had attempted to alter her username and justify her comments, saying her prayers go out only to those she considers "decent" people:

"I continue to pray for the decent people, children, visitors, and pets affected..."

The posts sparked outrage among readers and made their way to her employer, Blue Fish Pediatrics, which responded by releasing two statements on Facebook: one detesting Propst's words while offering condolences for victims of the floods and the other confirming Propst's termination.

The controversy also reached the president of the Texas Medical Board, Sherif Zaafran, MD, who responded to the concerns stating "There is no place for politicization. The entire focus needs to be on looking for survivors. Any complaints we may receive will be thoroughly investigated."

Propst was also affiliated with Memorial Hermann Health System. Her comments prompted the removal(of)her photo and information from the system's website, as well as a rebuke from Memorial Hermann on X:

"We are aware of statements made by a physician on social media and strongly condemn these statements. This provider is not employed by Memorial Hermann. We have zero tolerance for such rhetoric which does not reflect the mission, vision or values of our System."

Propst's photo and information have since been removed from both Blue Fish Pediatric and Memorial Hermann websites.

Propst hasn't been the only one to blame conservative voters for the flash flood. For example, MRCTV reports on the hateful comments of a left-wing commentator:

"Depraved left-wing podcaster and personality Ron Filipkowski wants you to know he thinks Texas got what was coming to them for voting for President Donald Trump, even as terrified families search for what will likely be only the remains of their loved ones—many of them children—following the devastating flash flood that wrecked six counties in Central Texas over the holiday weekend.

"'The people in Texas vote for government services controlled by Donald Trump and Greg Abbott. That is exactly what they are getting,'" Filipkowski posted in a now-deleted tweet Saturday."

Likewise, in a viral TikTok shared to X, a user claims that "if you would have just voted for Kamala that those kids in Texas and all those families in RVs would, more than likely, still be alive..."

"The mainstream media is deliberately lying about the events leading up to the catastrophic flooding in Texas," the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) reported on X Sunday, refuting claims that the National Weather Service had failed to response to flood threat in an effective and timely manner:

"The National Weather Service executed timely, precise forecasting and warnings, despite unprecedented rainfall overwhelming the region," the DHS post explains, providing "the timeline of NWS's proactive response." Subscribe for free to Breaking Christian News here
