However, now it appears the FCC is "fast-tracking" Soros' acquisition.

The situation came into being when Audacity, which controlled hundreds of radio stations across the US, filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in January. Once it was approved, "in February, Soros Fund Management acquired roughly $414 million of Audacy's debt—nearly 40% of the company's senior debt—emerging as the company's primary shareholder."

According to the Blaze Media report: "Audacy requested that the five-member FCC, which has a Democratic majority, take the unprecedented step of not only waiving the foreign ownership restriction in order to allow the purchase to move forward but of putting off a national security review of the stations' foreign-interest holders." In the aforementioned article, Glenn Beck spoke with FCC Commissioner Brendan Carr (appointed by Trump). Beck asked Carr how it was that the FCC seems to be indulging Soros in this request:

"Now, the vote came down in the FCC. It was partisan. Three Democrats voting for it. Two Republicans voting against it," said Beck. "But here's the real problem: According to existing FCC rules, foreign company ownership of US radio stations is not supposed to exceed 25%. But Soros took foreign investment to make his bid, and then he asked the FCC to make an exception to the usual review process."

Carr said, "I've been very outspoken on this particular issue for the reasons that you talked about. We have a very clear process at the FCC that we set up—it could take six months, it could take a year—to go through to [the national security] review the foreign ownership at issue here. But for reasons that are not sort of plain to me, the FCC ... for the very first time ever, has skipped that process for the benefit of this Soros-backed group."

Carr made clear that "it's an unprecedented decision for the commission" that would not have alternatively been accepted were Soros a partisan of another stripe—a decision that comes amid a broader "weaponization of government power ... against free speech."

Why is this so dangerous?

One only needs to recall the Rwanda genocide in 1994, and how radio was used to incite the horrific massacre of 800,000 people. An educational study on the genocide notes:

In mid-1993, Hutu radicals launched their own radio channel, Radio Télévision Libre des Mille Collines (RTLM). The channel would be used to incite hatred towards Tutsi by using propaganda and racist ideology, such as the Hutu Ten Commandments. On April 6, 1994, when the President's plane was shot down, killing both the Rwandan and Burundian presidents, the radical Hutu radio channel announced the deaths, urging Hutus to "go to work" and attack the Tutsi population. The genocide had begun. 

We in the US already know of the extreme bias embedded in mainstream media. A good deal of what counters that is Conservative talk radio. Would Soros' purchase of Audacity's stations shut that down?

It's true that among the 200 radio stations in more than 40 markets, many broadcast Conservative talk shows such as: Sean Hannity, Mark Levin, Dana Loesch, Erick Erickson and Glenn Beck.
