Arizona Cardinals Ban Woman from Wearing Her MAGA Hat

Todd Starnes : Sep 20, 2024  ToddStarnes.com

"I am super freedom of speech. I couldn't care less if someone had a Kamala hat or t-shirt on. I do feel like part of the problem was, is this security woman definitely had a bias with my hat." -Susan Rosenberg

Susan Rosenberg said she was stunned when a security guard stopped her and her husband from entering State Farm Stadium.

Television station KPNX reports one of the security guards told her to either throw the hat in the trash or she would not be allowed inside the stadium.

"I thought she was joking," Rosenberg said. "She's like, 'No political hats or shirts.'"

Rosenberg said she regrets complying with the security guard, but she was afraid she might jeopardize her season tickets.

"I wish I would have stood my ground a little bit, but I wasn't sure what the repercussions would be," she told the television station. (Screengrab image: via 12News)

The Cardinals do have a list of banned items, but political hats or shirts are not on the list. When Rosenberg pointed that out to a guest services representative, she was told that MAGA hats are prohibited.

The Cardinals released a statement saying the security guard and guest services agent were simply mistaken.

"In an isolated incident at Sunday's game, a stadium security member misunderstood a policy on prohibited items. Like most venues, signage, posters, flags, or displays that are...political in nature' are not permitted. However, that did not apply in this instance. Moving forward we will work to provide clarity to all stadium personnel in these situations. We have also reached out to the individual involved to communicate that their experience was not consistent with our policies and practices and to apologize for that."

Rosenberg said she plans to wear her MAGA hat to future games.

"I am super freedom of speech," she said. "I couldn't care less if someone had a Kamala hat or t-shirt on. I do feel like part of the problem was, is this security woman definitely had a bias with my hat."

Not only should the Cardinals offer an apology, they should also force the staffers involved to apologize. And if they refuse, the staffers should be tossed out of the ballpark. It's time to play hardball against bigotry. Subscribe for free to Breaking Christian News here
