Dems Courting a Christian Vote for Harris Use Billy Graham in an Ad, Get Slammed by Franklin"...They are trying to mislead people. Maybe they don't know that my father appreciated the conservative values and policies of President @realDonaldTrump in 2016, and if he were alive today, my father's views and opinions would not have changed." -Franklin Graham
The ad is sponsored by "Evangelicals for Harris" and features a clip at the beginning of Billy Graham speaking on a person's need for forgiveness. According to Newsweek, the ad then cuts to a conversation nearly a decade old, from back in 2015 with pollster Frank Lutz and President Trump where Lutz asks him if he ever "asks God for forgiveness." Trump's honest full response is: "I am not sure I have. I just go on and try to do a better job from there. I don't think so. I think if I do something wrong, I think, I just try and make it right. I don't bring God into that picture. I don't." Trump's reply is cut in the video, while the following accusatory statement scrolls across the screen: "Is there any greater denial of Christ... than to say 'I don't need His forgiveness.'" Of course, Trump didn't say he "doesn't need God's forgiveness," to imply that he did is an out and out lie. One might also argue that—especially following the assassination attempt on his life a month ago—President Trump may answer that same question a little differently today. Regardless, the ad was extremely offensive to the son of Billy Graham, Franklin Graham, who posted a screenshot from the video with the following statement on X: "The liberals are using anything and everything they can to promote candidate Harris. They even developed a political ad trying to use my father @BillyGraham's image. They are trying to mislead people. Maybe they don't know that my father appreciated the conservative values and policies of President @realDonaldTrump in 2016, and if he were alive today, my father's views and opinions would not have changed." -Franklin Graham (@Franklin_Graham via X) Christian Believers, who take their morals from the Bible, are likely quite aware that the so-called "Faith Story" and "values" of Kamala Harris are mostly antithetical to the teachings of Jesus as she promotes killing unborn babies, transgender mutilation and sterilization of children, "radical racism" and the Marxist ideals with which she was reportedly raised.
