Praying for the United Kingdom's General ElectionBCN editor's note: Stephen Green, Director of Christian Voice in the UK, is calling Believers to prayer over this week's general election there. In addition, there will be a prayer meeting on Saturday concerning the election results. Please be in prayer for England and all of the UK, as this vote will determine their next Prime Minister, and likely the direction of the country. We shall be praying for our nation to follow the ways of the Lord (as set out in Scripture) and against spiritual wickedness in high places. To do our work of informing your prayers we need your support! Expect worship with singing at our prayer meetings, seeking the Lord, prayer and answers to prayer. We are led by the Holy Spirit, so expect prayer for our leaders and expect the unexpected as well. Jer 29:7- "And seek the peace of the city whither I have caused you to be carried away captives, and pray unto the LORD for it: for in the peace thereof shall ye have peace." Our Prayer Targets According to that word we shall pray for the Lord to pour out His mercy on the UK. We'll pray for national repentance and for the fear of God to bring wisdom, humility and reason to HM Government. Specifically, we'll probably pray into: The RESULT of the GENERAL ELECTION! Ps75:7; Dan 2:21. 4:17; Hosea 8:4; John 19:11. Humility and wisdom for His Majesty's Government. Exodus 18:21. An end to the Politics of Absurdity. Luke 14:28. LGBT promotion to children in Scotland. Matt 18:6 The World Health Assembly meeting and the WHO Treaty. Psalm 2 An end to the conflict in Ukraine: Psalm 34:14. The next stage in Stephen's Buffer Zone Trial: Psalm 89:14. The security of Israel and Christians in the Holy Land: Psalm 122:6. The Rwanda debates and the Rochdale by-election: Job 28:28 The ‘Trans' Agenda: Why is the UK Government pro-trans? Matthew 9:12. An end to NetZero which is impoverishing the people: Ezekiel 45:9. The RSE agenda and LGBT propaganda: Isaiah3:9. Covid mRNA ‘vaccines': Professor's call to ban them: Matthew 9:12. Free IVF for Lesbians on the NHS! And there is nothing physically wrong with them! Gen 16:4 The UK Government promoting evil abroad.: Psalm 12:8. The state of the Church: Matthew 16:18. We'll also pray for the Lord's blessing and for financial provision for this ministry including our emerging presence in Africa and Asia and our enthusiastic team: Rev 3:8. Nor shall we forget the reason why we started these prayer meetings in the first place: the continued presence of Tablighi Jamaat's mosque on the historic Abbey Mills site. Isa 42:8. The Lord Jesus said: Matt 4:10 ... "Get thee hence, satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and Him only shalt thou serve."
