"My mom died last night—unexpected," Bongino said last Friday, becoming visibly emotional as he discussed her death. "She fell down a flight of stairs. And I found out earlier this morning."

Pausing for moments to process his emotions, the radio host said he was notified about his mom's death around 4:43 a.m. He was wide awake at the time because something "strange" had happened just an hour before, and he wanted to call his wife to tell her about it.

"For those of you who don't believe in God, I'm not here to judge you," Bongino said. "But I want to tell you something. I want to tell you in advance, I'm not crazy, OK?"
