Suspect in Murder of Georgia Nursing Student is an Illegal Alien (Who Was Previously Arrested)The sad reality is that if ...Biden had just secured the border, Laken Riley would still be alive. How many innocent Americans must die until the Democrats shut down this invasion of our nation?
Laken Hope Riley was a junior at Augusta University School of Nursing and took classes at its satellite campus in Athens. The 22-year-old had gone out for a job on Thursday at the UGA's intramural fields. When she failed to return her roommate called police. Her body was discovered in a wooded area by police just after lunchtime with "visible injuries." The cause of death was blunt force trauma, police said. The suspect is identified as Jose Antonio Ibarra, a 26-year-old Venezuelan national living in our nation illegally. Ibarra is charged with malice and felony murder, aggravated battery, aggravated assault, false imprisonment, kidnapping, hindering a 911 call, and concealing the death of another. "They had no relationship," Police Chief Jeff Clark told the Athens Banner-Herald. "He did not know her at all. It was a crime of opportunity." "This is a heartbreaking time for the University of Georgia," the chief said. Both universities cancelled classes in the aftermath of Riley's death. Chief Clark urged students to "travel in groups" and keep their "head on a swivel." Meantime, Fox News reports that Ibarra was released from custody in El Paso and moved to New York City. In 2023 he was arrested for injuring a child and driving without a license. The NYPD released Ibarra before a detainer could be issued.
