Illinois Abortion Facility Sends Three Women to the Hospital in One Week

Amanda Vicinanzo : Dec 11, 2023  LiveAction.org

"We hope that through our work people, many see the myth of 'safe abortion' for what it is: a lie invented by people who make huge profits out of killing innocent lives and maiming women..." -Operation Rescue's President, Troy Newman

[LiveAction.org] Abortion activists used to say abortion should be "safe, legal, and rare," but a recent series of medical emergencies at Hope Clinic for Women in Granite City, Illinois, reveal a starkly different reality, according to reports from Operation Rescue. (Image: Pixabay)

In a span of less than a week in November, the abortion facility reported three medical emergencies.

NOVEMBER 3RD

Emergency services were called for a 35-year-old patient showing signs of a possible seizure during a procedure. She did not appear to have any medical history of epilepsy or seizures, and asked for an ambulance to take her to Barnes Jewish Hospital, located across the state border in Missouri, 17 minutes away. Hope Clinic frequently sends their injured patients there, even though there is a hospital located right across the street from the abortion facility.

The woman reportedly had experienced two seizure episodes at the time of the 911 call. It's not clear what caused the seizure, but Operation Rescue reported that possible causes could have been improper anesthesia injections and hemorrhage.

NOVEMBER 7

Another emergency call involved a 40-year-old patient with excessive bleeding and uterine inflammation. Hemorrhaging after an abortion is often caused by a laceration or perforation of one of the reproductive organs, like the cervix or uterus. However, the staffer refused to give any information to the 911 dispatcher letting paramedics know what happened to the patient, why she was hemorrhaging, or what kind of care she would need.

NOVEMBER 9

A 21-year-old patient required advanced cardiac life support after an unspecified post-procedure complication. These incidents, shrouded in ambiguity, underscore the grave risks associated with abortion procedures, including potential complications like uterine perforation and seizures.

However, it was clear that the patient's condition was serious; the staffer requested Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) equipment, indicating the patient may have been suffering a cardiac arrest, stroke, or other cardiovascular emergency.

Disturbingly, these emergencies aren't isolated. Live Action News previously reported that Hope Clinic for Women has been the scene of multiple life-threatening incidents recently, part of a tally of at least 20 medical emergencies this year alone. Shockingly, such distressing occurrences have been downplayed ever since Illinois became a refuge for abortions, due to stringent laws in neighboring states that protect the preborn. The state hosts around 10,000 women from out-of-state seeking abortions each year.

In the wake of these incidents, Operation Rescue rightly emphasizes a clear truth—abortion is dangerous, harming women and ending the lives of preborn children.

"We hope that through our work people, many see the myth of 'safe abortion' for what it is: a lie invented by people who make huge profits out of killing innocent lives and maiming women," Operation Rescue's President, Troy Newman, said in a statement. "In this dreadful process the Abortion Cartel calls 'healthcare,' unsuspecting women are hurt and some of them even die. We pray that one day every state in our nation may see through these lies, and save women and their babies from such horror and pain." Subscribe for free to Breaking Christian News here
