Boston Children's initially made a name for itself as a pioneer of pediatric gender transitions, declaring "we are proud to be home to the first pediatric and adolescent transgender health program in the United States" and having "cared for more than 1,000 families to date." This care included the performance of various life-altering surgeries including mastectomies, phalloplasty and vaginoplasty, with 204 such surgeries conducted on minors from 2017 to 2020. The youngest of these patients received chest surgery at the age of only 15.

Other alarming revelations from the since-deleted website addressing transgender surgeries included recommendations surrounding vaginoplasty and phalloplasty surgeries. Vaginoplasty in particular, which involves castration and inversion of the penis to create a pseudo-vagina, is allowed at a minimum age for individuals who were only 17 years old, as noted by the Daily Caller. Phalloplasty, meanwhile, is allowed for individuals 18 years of age or older.

As MRCTV has reported, Boston Children's website promotes resources for those ages 13-24, teaching them the practices of "tucking" (for biological males) and breast "binding" (for biological females).
