Dear Friends,

On April 19, we will celebrate “Yom Ha’atzmaut” – Israel Independence Day and the seventieth anniversary of Israel’s rebirth as a nation! 

What an amazing and miraculous moment as in the spring of 1948, Scripture came to life! 

“I will bring back the captives of My people Israel; They shall build the waste cities and inhabit them...
I will plant them in their land, and no longer shall they be pulled up from the land I have given them," Says the LORD your God.” - Amos 9:14-15

On that day in 1948, 250 Jewish leaders packed into a small art museum in Tel Aviv, today known as Independence Hall (above). Against incredible odds, they declared the re-establishment of the nation of Israel.  In less than 24 hours six Arab armies attacked this fledgling state intent to wipe them off the map.

But God’s Word never fails!

Today, Israel is a strong and vibrant nation, but not without its challenges...

The financial strain on Israel caused by the economic boycotts of the BDS (boycott, divestment, and sanctions) movement and the high cost of security and defense against multiple military threats had a significant impact on the nation’s budget...leaving Israel with the highest poverty rate in the developed world.

Sadly, there are over 870,000 children living in poverty in Israel today.  That should not be!

But Israel does not stand alone.  You and I together can be a part of God’s love extended to the people of Israel.

What a privilege to be a part of this historic moment, and to add our support to this people God has called a “light to the nations.”
