Earlier this month, the Bible translating non-profit lost four workers who were suspected to be killed by Islamist militants at an undisclosed location.  
 
The ministry said that terrorists raided the translator's office then shot and killed two of the translators. Two other workers saved the lead translator by laying on top of him, but they died deflecting blows from the attackers' weapons.
 
The militants also destroyed the office equipment and burned all the books and other translation materials.
 
Bruce Smith, president of the organization, told Fox News that the work simply cannot be done in the relative safety of the U.S.
 
"The simple answer is that the Church prefers to do translation where the people are," Smith told Fox News in a statement.
 
"Even when tragedy strikes, as in this case, the testimony of Christ is loud and clear," Smith said. "Yes, there is a tremendous cost. But as Tertullian, an early Church father, said—the blood of martyrs are the seeds of the Church."
