But when the process began and proceeded much more rapidly than anticipated, they found themselves on their own, along with their birth photographer, Robin Baker of BirthBlessingsPhotography.com.

The first baby arrived and cuddled with mom for a while, and then the surprise...

The second of the twins was born "en-caul", showing through and alive but still fully encased in his amniotic sac.

Photog Baker caught the extraordinary moment that reportedly occurs once in less than 80,000 births.

"They had 30 minutes of bonding time with Baby A [girl] before Baby B [boy] made his way into his father's hands still en-caul."

According to the Fox News report, the mom reached down and punctured the sac with her fingernail.
