1950s Classic "Ten Commandments" Back on The Big Screen

News Staff : Mar 17, 2016  CBN News

EDITOR'S NOTE: Cecil B. DeMille's "The Ten Commandments" was something I looked forward to many years in a row, growing up. I was fascinated by the closeness between Moses and God. I can recall watching this movie many times with my father, which makes it all the more special to me, since he has recently passed. I would have to say my two favorite scenes were the 'burning bush' where Moses encountered God for the first time, and of course the Red Sea crossing. I'm excited for a chance to see it on the big screen for my first time! -Aimee Herd, BCN.

[CBN News] The classic Biblical film "The Ten Commandments" is turning 60. To commemorate the occasion Fathom Events and Turner Classic Movies are bringing the film back to theaters March 20 and March 23. (Screengrab via Fathom Events)

The movie tells the story of the life of Moses, and remains one of the highest grossing movies of all time.

Directed by renowned filmmaker Cecil B. DeMille, the film grossed more than $65 million at the U.S. box office in 1956-equal to more than $1.1 billion today.
