Actor George Clooney Praises the Effective Relief Efforts by Christians in Sudan"[Christians] lead the work a lot of times here. When we were at the Darfur rally it was ministers. It was a lot of people of faith that had been working very hard on this." –George Clooney. Well-known and award-winning actor, George Clooney, has been very involved in raising awareness of the blatant violations of human rights, and ethnic killing in Sudan. He recently returned from another trip to visit victims of the horrific violence near the southern border.
While a celebrity who is not necessarily a Believer—working closely with Christians—is a rarity in these times, Clooney has been doing just that. Dr. Pat Robertson has regularly spoken out against the Sudanese government and the atrocities it has committed, according to CBN News, and it's caught the attention of Clooney.
Clooney had even encouraged rocker and humanitarian activist, Bono, to get in touch with Robertson. Speaking in the CBN interview, Clooney praised the hard work by Christian aid groups to bring healing and relief in the Sudan. "They lead the work a lot of times here," Clooney said. "When we were at the Darfur rally it was ministers. It was a lot of people of faith that had been working very hard on this." "So in some ways I'm trying to honor whatever part I can in the hard work that they do because I'm a big fan of all of the work that's being done. And people really put their hearts and souls in it," Clooney added.
