Tebow's Testimony Impacts Opposing Team

Teresa Neumann-Commentary : Dec 9, 2011  Mike Florio - NBC Sports

"Us losing to Tim Tebow the way we did, we seen it first hand... Young man has a special anointing on him. And for God to show Himself in that game the way He did, through the guy He did it through, it opened a lot of guys' eyes on our team. And it brought a lot of guys closer to God... my hat goes off to Tim. And God working through him like that; it opened a lot of eyes." -Karlos Dansby, Dolphins' linebacker

(Denver, Co.)—Tim Tebow has been called everything from a lightning rod, to a loser, to a pain in the neck, to a saint, to a flash-in-the-pan, to a polarizing public figure, ad nauseum.

Chances are Denver's quarterback is labeled "polarizing" simply because he's a serenely, unapologetically, well-spoken Christian. Indeed, if he ascribed to any other faith (or none), I would wager few in the mainstream media, or sports industry, would risk opening that can of worms.

But, with Tebow, it's open season.

The fact is, to most Christians—evangelicals anyway—Tebow's outspokenness and determination to walk out his faith in the public eye is viewed as courageous and inspiring, if not downright electrifying. To date, Tebow is, by most accounts, nothing short of a sensation, a newsmaker; a mover and shaker in football and American culture at large. My own husband, a die-hard Bronco's fan for nearly four decades, calls Tebow a "sign and a wonder."

On Tuesday, Dolphins' linebacker Karlos Dansby's praised Tebow on Jim Rome's radio show. Dansby reportedly told Rome that he and other members of the Dolphins' team "saw Godliness" in Tebow's recent performances.

"Us losing to Tim Tebow the way we did, we seen it first hand," said Dansby. "Young man is blessed. Young man has a special anointing on him. And for God to show Himself in that game the way He did, through the guy He did it through, it opened a lot of guys' eyes on our team. And it brought a lot of guys closer to God... my hat goes off to Tim. And God working through him like that; it opened a lot of eyes."

"He's a blessed young man," he added, "and I wish him much success the rest of his career."
