Thanks to the Association of Christian Churches in Russia (ACCR), some Russian inmates in the St. Petersburg area are receiving good dental care - of which many are in great need.

Yan Volkev, head of ACRR's prison ministry department said, "We dedicated a whole year for prayer, planning, preparations - and here is the ‘long expected' beginning…our doctor is a Christian, (and) our driver is an evangelist, who will be preaching the gospel there. The patients will be able to watch Christian TV programs and enjoy the process of treatment."

The donated "house-on-wheels" van is equipped with dental and x-ray rooms, making possible all dental procedures except for prosthesis. It is expected to service up to 16 different prisons and jails.

"We believe and pray that this ministry will glorify our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, and that many of the convicts seeing care and love will turn to their Heavenly Father," added Volkev.
