The Mississippi River may have crested on Tuesday, however, officials warn the "worst is yet to come," in what's been said to be some of the worst flooding since 1937.

In Memphis, Tennessee, sandbags have been laid against doorways in hopes the water won't overpower them?in other areas it's too late for that as whole fields have become a lake, leaving crops completely submerged with just rooftops marking where a farm was.

The early estimated damage in Memphis was set around $320 million but is now expected to be more. And, along the south part of the swollen Mississippi River, costs of damage and cleanup have not even begun to be calculated.

In Louisiana, one Deputy Sheriff had inmates filling sandbags for residents to use to protect their homes in St. Martin Parish.

"Everybody is just scared. They don't know what to do," she said.

To make matters worse, there was a forecast of rain on the way for the flooded region.
