(Washington, D.C.) As confrontations in the U.S. Senate over President Bush's judicial nominees continued today, Senator Bill Frist took some action by joining the chairman of the High Impact Leadership Coalition, Bishop Harry Jackson, and other black pastors at a justice rally which took place in Russell park, near the Capitol building.

"Enough is enough," Frist said. "The judicial filibusters in the U.S. Senate are a disgrace and these excellent judicial nominees deserve a fair, up-or-down vote." Rally organizer, Bishop Jackson defended Bush's nominee for the U.S. Court of Appeals for the D.C. Circuit, Janice Rogers Brown.

"Born in the segregated South, Janice Rogers Brown is a role model for all those born to prejudice and disadvantage, as she has overcome adversity and obstacles and, since 1996, has served as a member of the California Supreme Court," said Jackson. "Janice Rogers Brown is not only a legal hero for black America, she is a legal hero for all America."

Bishop Harry Jackson is senior pastor of Hope Christian Church in College Park, Maryland, and co-author with George Barna of a book called High Impact African American Churches (Regal Books, 2004). Jackson has also recently released a new mini-book called The Black Contract with America on Moral Values(Charisma House, 2005).
